The situation on the ground in Darfur is dire and desperate. Because Sudanese President Bashir ordered aid groups to leave the country, life-saving supplies of food, clean water and medicine are being abruptly cut off. According to the United Nations, 1 million people could go without their food rations within a matter of weeks.
Our constituency must rally now. We have to impress upon President Obama’s administration and new envoy Gen. Scott Gration that the American people support bold action to end the suffering. So we’re coming together with friends and neighbors in creative, innovative ways. A youth rally, a book reading, a candle lighting…which one is happening near you?
